Ingredients

  • 1 lb thick-cut bacon (about 10–12 slices)
  • 3 tbsp Meat Mitch Candied Jalapeño Rub
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for extra candy coating)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional glaze)
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped candied jalapeños (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top for even crisping.
  2. Twist the bacon: take each strip and twist tightly from one end to the other, then place on the rack.
  3. Season: sprinkle Candied Jalapeño Rub generously on all sides of each twist. (Optional: mix brown sugar into the rub before sprinkling for extra caramelization.)
  4. Bake 30–40 minutes, flipping halfway, until deep golden and crisp. Keep an eye toward the end -- sugar can burn fast.
  5. Glaze (optional): brush with warm maple syrup or honey during the last 5 minutes for a glossy candy coating.
  6. Cool and top: let rest 5 minutes to firm up. For a punchy finish, sprinkle finely chopped candied jalapeños over the top.
