Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • ½ cup Meat Mitch WHOMP! Sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Chips or toasted baguette, for serving

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the onions: heat the butter in a cast iron or oven-safe skillet over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onions and salt. Stir occasionally for 25–30 minutes until deep golden brown.
  2. Build the dip: once the onions are caramelized, lower the heat and add the cream cheese and cheddar to the skillet. Stir until melted and smooth. Fold in the chicken. Top with WHOMP! Sauce and mix thoroughly.
  3. Bake until bubbling: preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the skillet dip for 15–20 minutes, or until the edges bubble and the top starts to brown.
  4. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips or toasted baguette slices.

This skillet doesn't just slap -- it WHOMP!s.
